This week on the show a feature on LANDR (from the company until recently known as MixGenius), an online automated music mastering service that is making waves in the production music world, I chat with co-founder Justin Evans and we cover the company from the very beginning up until the latest developments.
This week on the DMT 1-2-1 show an in-depth interview with Simon Cole, the CEO of 7digital.
We discuss the company’s recent merger with UBC Media and the coming together of two cultures, the future of the company, some of its most recent deals, merging spoken word content with personalised music, international challenges, Audioboom, the company’s tech back-end and what it’s like to be at the helm of a public company (and how to deal with swings in stock price…).
I really hope you enjoy the show, have a great week and ’till next time!

This week on the DMT 1-2-1 show I chat with the founder and CEO of Africori, Yoel Kenan.
Africori is a company that works across multiple territories in Africa dealing with music licensing and distribution for artists and labels. With offices in London, Cape Town and Lagos, Africori has been quietly building a strong network of relationships and Yoel chats about how the market is evolving, the biggest challenges in developing the music economy, payment systems, contractual issues, the importance of YouTube and much, much more.
For me this was a particularly fascinating episode as I know extremely little about digital music in Africa – as demonstrated during the recording of DMT 199 at Berlin Music Week – so if you’re on the same boat this interview should provide a good introduction to the topic.
I really hope you enjoy the show, have a fantastic week and ’till next time!
This week on the DMT 1-2-1 show an interview with Nadav Poraz, the CEO of WhoSampled.
WhoSampled has been around since 2008 and has collected data on samples usage for over 270,000 tracks, building a powerful and remarkably accurate database of who sampled who through the decades.
The company this week released a free Android app so we chat about the evolution of the service in general and the mobile component in particular, the business model, data analysis, what the future holds and much more!
This week on the DMT 1-2-1 show an interview with Iain Hagger, the CEO of the startup CampaignAmp, an all-in-one project management and analytics platform that aims to help label marketing departments, music PR companies and artist managers effectively coordinate campaigns.
