This week on DMT 1-2-1 I chat to Jay Frank, founder of independent label Digsin. Jay set up the label just over a year ago and has extensive experience in the music industry having worked at CMT, Yahoo! Music and The Box. Digsin has had two great success stories this year with Jenn Bostic and Bronze Radio Return, we chat about what drove sales for those artists, the importance of being reactive to what’s happening even if it’s on the other side of the world and the importance of synch for indie artists.
This week’s guest on the new 1-2-1 show is Guvera‘s US MD Phil Quartararo.
Phil has an extensive background in the traditional music industry working in high-level executive positions at Virgin Records, Warner Music and EMI. Guvera is a music streaming service available in Australia and the US providing access to music free of charge via brand sponsorships. In the interview we talk about the company’s business model, its plans, brands and music, user interaction with the brands and a lot more.
DMT begins a new series of 1-2-1 interviews that will be running alongside the weekly show starting with Gilles Poupardin, co-founder and CEO of music start-up Whyd.
