This week on the DMT 1-2-1 show a feature on the new YouTube channel Transmitter launched as a joint venture between the BPI and LoveLive. Recorded at the Trasmitter studios, I chat with Geoff Taylor, Chief Executive at the BPI, and William McGillivray, Head of Content and Programming at LoveLive.
Transmitter launched in November 2013 as a response to the shrinking number of programs dedicated to music on TV, aiming to provide exposure to new and established British artists via a combination of YouTube-friendly video formats like live performances, incongruous cover versions, Q&As and special challenges. The channel is also planning to start live streaming shows on a regular basis starting as soon as February.
We talk about Transmitter’s origins and development, its aims, plans for growth, its reception by the labels/artists and much more.
I really hope you enjoy the show, have a great week and ’till next time!
