This week on Digital Music Trends a SXSW special recorded with a few attendees who took some time to fill me in on what’s going on at this year’s event. We discuss what’s happening in Austin, the latest from their respective companies and we also cover this week’s news.

And it was a pleasure to welcome to the show James Hamlin from WhoSampled, Darryl Ballantyne from LyricFind, Kevin Breuner from CD Baby, Paul Anthony from Rumblefish and Mark Steiner from Gigsalad.

We also chat about Kendrick Lamar’s Spotify streaming record, the Empire soundtrack taking the N.1. spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart thanks to streaming, Rhapsody’s Twitter feature and Rdio’s new social features, YouTube for artists and much more…

I really hope you enjoy the show, have a fantastic week and ’till next time!

This week on Digital Music Trends I chat with Vickie Nauman – former President of 7Digital in North America and now at CrossBorderWorks consulting – about her experience at Music Matters in Singapore, the independent music organisations lashing out against YouTube, the so-almost-closed deal between Apple and Beats (which closed a few hours after our recording), the launch of Next Big Book, Audiam moving beyond YouTube, the new real-time Billboard charts powered by Twitter.

In the show I also interview the CEO of LyricFind Darryl Ballantyne on the company’s recent deal with UMPG and its partnership with BandPage.

Finally we also mention the new app Tunepics and the release of Dejay 2 for iPad and iOS with Spotify integration.

I really hope you enjoy the show, have a fantastic week and ’till next time!
