DMT’s SXSW Music Law Special ft. Lita Rosario, Ken Abdo, Paul M. Fakler and Greg Barnes

Digital Music Trends’ coverage of SXSW included a few interviews addressing some of the most pressing legal and legislative issues in the US around music and copyright, so I decided to bundle them together in a special show. This episode features Lita Rosario (President, WYZ Entertainment), Ken Abdo (Vice-President, Lommen Abdo), Paul M. Fakler (Partner, Arent Fox LLP) and Greg Barnes (General Counser, DiMA).

We cover termination rights, the review of the Copyright Act, digital royalties, interactive music applications, rate courts and the Pandora debate, pre-1972 sound recordings, the DMCA and compulsory mechanical licenses.

I really hope you enjoy the show, have a great week and ’till next time.
